COO Children

The China Orphan Outreach Programme (COO) was initiated by MedArt’s volunteers in 2005 with an intention to extend its free medical care to the orphaned children who require acute medical treatments. Our volunteer medical team is comprises of experienced medical doctors in different specialties, such as anaesthesia, ENT, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, and urology. All medical consultants from both Hong Kong and Mainland China work on a voluntary and free of charge basis. Other volunteer services provided include nursing care, palliative care and associated logistical supports. Treatments performed in either Hong Kong or Mainland China depend on the condition of each referred case and the availability of facilities.
